Sinopsis

“Ada is a southern sharecropper's wife whose husband has been killed in the Civil War leaving her pregnant with their only child. When the child dies from fever at only two weeks old, Ada buries her next to the monument she has created for her dead husband. As she returns to their cabin, she stumbles upon a black Union soldier who has been caught and hanged. She cuts him down and along with her companion, a Native American woman, she takes him to her cabin and faces a terrible dilemma - with barely enough food to survive and the man's throat too damaged to swallow, how will she save him?”
